CABARET FOR KIDS: YOU CAN TELL MAMA ABOUT IT!

I have to start off by saying I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea!! I mean how many of us struggle to tell our kids what we do or what we are going to go see? This will help with all of that and in a safe fun environment! Please show your support for this genius idea and go to the show!!!!!

Red Headed Temper is Jenny Lowery and Ruby Kane. Jenny is a comedy burlesque artist with the Von Foxies. She sees no conflict between this role and her other occupation: full time childcare worker. Ruby is an event planner, acupuncturist, poet, blogger, wife, and glitter addict.

Featuring:

MC Elsa Von Schmaltz
Elsa loves dingle balls. Aren't you excited to see what she'll wear?

Once described as Laverne & Shirley meet Abbott & Costello, Chickee & Boom-Boom are an adorable pair of bumbling beauties. These peculiar party girls dance, perform tricks, and guarantee laughs with their unique, offbeat style.

Holly the Living Music Box. This 9 year old will dance right into your heart...

Manny the Amazing!
Manny Eckert has been attracting lots of attention as a member of the School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts Youth Troupe, with which he performs regularly at venues such as Northwest Folklife Festival, Seattle Children's Museum, and Remlinger Farms. He won the Big Trick competition at the International Juggling Festival in Portland, and was the first-place winner at the Bumbershoot's Got Talent contest. He made his theater debut as a juggler in the show "Barnum" at the Kirkland Performing Arts Center, and his solo act was chosen for the opening show of the Seattle International Children's Festival.

Moorea Malatt is The Naked Folksinger. She was born naked. She is a Creativity and Personal Organizing guru by day and a sultry songwriting comedian by night. She was a nanny for 13 years and a Preschool teacher too! She has a psychology background and is available as parent's coach and also to sing at your kids' parties!

Honeysuckle Hype knows what it means to be a girl. And how to eat like one. But can she teach her puppy the true meaning?

The Secret Footbagers... You have to see for yourself.

Callie
Hills lives by the mottos, "Have flutes, will travel," and
"Plays well with others." She has performed all over the United States at
scifi and filk (science-fiction-influenced folk music) conventions as
an accomplished flutist and vocalist, both solo and sharing the stage with
various other performers. When she's not making or arranging music,
she can usually be found bicycling or knitting. Ask her about her
beautiful handmade scarves.

Jen Stone has been singing for as long as she can remember, mostly in
the car and the shower, but it took Callie to convince her she was any
good at it. The two have been performing together for several months at
filk conventions around the West Coast. Jen's other talents run to
dance, sewing, cooking, and bad puns.

See you there!!

BURNING BUSH BURLESQUE presents...
A Creation Story

Friday, February 22nd, 2008
Jewelbox Theater @ the Rendezvous
2322 2nd Ave. Seattle

shows at 6:45 and 8:15pm
tickets $10 advance/$12 door
burningbushburlesque@gmail.com for advance ticket info and press inquiries

Burning Bush Burlesque is the ugly love child of Kitty "Boobalah" Rose, Hella Vendetta, and Ms. Honeysuckle Hype. In "A Creation Story," Burning Bush and friends present a contemporary (read: dirty, queer and 2/3 Jewish) take on the sacred story of Genesis. With two dykes in the garden of eden, Jezebel on the campaign trail, and more burning bush puns than you can shake a long piece of cured meat at, you might actually want to die if you miss our debut show.

Burning Bush Burlesque
Burning Bush Burlesque began when Honeysuckle stood in front of a projected image of a holiday fireplace. Her vagina was on fire but not consumed. Kitty and Hella were Verklempt*. They realized that they were the chosen broads and quickly followed in Moses' footsteps, removing their sandals in the presence of this miracle. Then they left Moses' footsteps and removed the rest of their clothes. Bringing their sassy, sexy schtik to yids and goys alike, these two bad-ass Jewesses and one booty-shakin' Shiksa
will make you uncomfortable in the way only unapologetically funny hot naked chicks can possibly achieve.
*a yiddish word meaning "choked with emotion"

Ernie Von Schmaltz
Three words best describe this force, this powerful figure, the man the myth the mustache.... Delicious Masculine Fantasy. Ernie Von Schmaltz is a man about town...you can witness his mustache wielding powers in shows at the Pink Door, Columbia City Cabaret, Jet City Burlesque Productions and Dr. Sketchy's at the Jewel Box Theater. You can be further hypnotized with lust by catching he and his troupe, Miss Exotic World 2007 Best Troupe winners The Von Foxies at their home theater, Theatre Off Jackson.

Miz Ginger Snapz
Miz Ginger Snapz is Seattle's premier Black burlesque starlet. With her sass, class, and whole lotta ass, she surprises and entertains audiences weary of mainstream burlesque. As a titty-twirlin', paper-writin', theory-readin', foot-stompin', fist shakin', high-femme, queer of color, Ginger has been bringing her special brand of spice to stages in Seattle, Vancouver, and San Francisco for over two years. Ginger will be offering burlesque classes for women of color in the upcoming weeks, email syd_f@yahoo.com if interested. In the words of the famous Isaac Hayes, Ginger is "one baaaad muthafucka"

Jesse Belle-Jones
Jesse Belle-Jones is a bluestocking bettie whose edgy antics and sultry grace will leave audiences scratching their heads and panting for more. With her strong dance background and academic approach, her stunning concepts and choreography both challenge and captivate. Jesse's acts are packed with tantalizing food for thought served up in a sweet, coquettish style that is guaranteed to keep her on your mind.

Miss Sugar Magnolia
Miss Sugar Magnolia is as sweet as sweet-tea and hotter than a southern summer! Her piercing green eyes and fiery hair are merely the beginning of what's in store... Miss Sugar has been on stage or in front of a camera since before she could walk and has captivated Seattle audiences with her special blend of vintage and comic burlesque. Sit back while she shimmies and shakes her smooth southern sass!
